"The reason for posting the Review is because there is not much info on the Web, so wanted to share my first experience. The MTO start point is really nice with Bike wash stands to rinse off your bike after a muddy experience and a Store with simple basic items. There is an app if you would like to purchase a day permit, but I went into the store to pay for the day visit. After reviewing the courses, I decided to do the Pull Scar Loop(interlinked with BackBone) which was very interesting as we do not have Forests in JHB. The majority of the course was well maintained. There was heavy rains across the area so alot of pine cones/pine needles and wash away sand(Mother Natures Fault). These were just a few small hurdles. The signage for the course I took was visible, with no issues. I cannot comment on the other course but by the way this course had signage I do not think you need to worry to much for the other courses. If you are riding alone, I would fully recommend you take enough water(Camelbak) and all necessary tools because it is a long way back to the MTO Trails Store. Please see photos I took whilst there of all the trails available to you before arrival."

"Can't comment on swimming pool or chill zone but it is a good place to park and head out to ride the trails. There's a bike wash too so you don't have to put a muddy bike back on your car."

"Well lay out and so much fun. All can ride this park, but the runs are challenging and for the better rides there are lots to keep you wanting to go back for more."

"What I love most about this place is the variety of things that you can do there. We often go hiking and have used the picnic facilities at the dam. There is ample safe parking, restrooms and a shop. The hiking trails can accommodate various fitness levels and distances. They are clearly marked and well maintained. A small group would feel safe there. And it's conveniently situated, just about 40 minutes from Nelspruit. Oh the joy, and luxury, to be in nature!"

"Some incredible trails! Was surprised by how good these are and how much effort has been put in. Easy to scan the qr codes to pay for your day pass - excellent."

"These trails are amazing and a must ride. Absolutely beautiful and serene surroundings. My only gripe is that it’s difficult for new comers to figure out how things work. Yes, there’s Trailforks, but I would have loved some maps at the trailhead. (The lady who sold us our passes couldn’t help, unfortunately.) I was also unable to download the MTO app. Perhaps MTO could publish some gpx files or plain maps on the website to make things easier? We ended up following the blue signs and it worked well enough - except for one trail which felt like a black trail (with no warning about what was coming). All in all, though, we enjoyed our ride and we will be back - and hopefully better prepared!"
